After a breakthrough first Fight in the Night race win last year, Sherrin Racing is champing at the bit to get back to Queensland Raceway this weekend for an extended three-hour running of the popular night race, now sponsored by Sherrin Rentals.
Sherrin Racing had finished on the podium numerous times for the annual night race, yet 2023 marked the first outright and class X victory for the team, with Iain Sherrin claiming the victory in the #72 Sherrin Rentals BMW M4 following an exceptional last lap passing manoeuvre to take the lead, despite having started the race from the rear of the grid.
While Iain is hoping to make it a Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night double, Grant Sherrin in the #27 Sherrin Rentals BMW M4 will be looking for redemption after a difficult 2023 outing at the Ipswich venue which saw him sent to the pits from the race lead for a second stop in what was ultimately declared an incorrect call by officials.
The two day Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night event – which replaces the cancelled SpeedSeries event scheduled for the same weekend – will also feature a Top Ten Shootout for the first time in Meguiar’s Australian Production Cars history, with the team excited about this new element for what is always a high intensity event.

Saturday 13 July
- Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night practice – 10.10am – 10.40am
- Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night Qualifying – 2.05pm – 2.30pm
- Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night Top Ten Shootout – 2.30pm – 3.00pm
- Sherrin Rentals Fight in the Night – 6.30pm – 9.30pm
