About the car:

At the end of 2016 after many fun and successful years racing BMW 135i’s, the Sherrin Racing team bought a BMW M4, and built in into “The Beast” that it is now.

Driven by brothers Grant and Iain Sherrin, the car made its debut at the Bathurst 6 Hour in 2017. Which was also the start of Sherrin Racing’s first year competing in Class A. But being a new car, there were a few gremlins to overcome, and we had to call out race end short that year at Bathurst.

Following the M4’s first event, after a couple rounds of the 2017 Australian Production Cars Series  everything started falling into place. And is was soon apparent that the M4 was a force to be reckoned with.

At the conclusion of its debut year, the # 18 red BMW M4 had claimed the outright championship, and Class A championship for the Australian Production Cars Series (APC). Which was an exceptional result considering its initial start to the season.

In 2018 the M4 returned for the Bathurst 6 Hour, with the team on a mission to finish what they started the year before. And in one of our most memorable events to date, and after an absolutely thrilling battle to the finish. The BMW M4 took the lead with two laps to go, and it was an epic victory for the Sherrin Racing team, and we took out the title on the 2018 Bathurst 6 Hour!

After our Bathurst win, we had an extremely competitive season in the Australian Production Cars Series and finished on the podium for every round. And ended the year coming home with second for the outright championship, and second in Class A.

2019 saw another year of podium finishes throughout the 5 APC rounds. With Grant and Iain in the M4 once more taking out the outright championship. Which is the 3rd time Sherrin Racing have secured the APC champion win. Not only that, they also had another successful trip to Mount Panorama for the 2019 Bathurst 6 Hour, which is fast becoming a favourite event amongst the Group 3E Production Cars community. And the brothers put in another mammoth effort, with the M4 crossing the line to come second overall and bringing home the silver trophy.

2020 will see the M4 back on the track for 6 rounds in the Australian Production Cars Series, along with our annual trip for the Bathurst 6 Hour event.
